You know your in China when
- You see a very attractive girl hock a great big luggie on the street in front of you.
- See people put grocer bags around their feet when its raining so their shoes don’t get wet (I am not kidding) I have seen at least 4 people do this, the first time I thought ok that lady is crazy not two minutes later I saw two other people walking by in this new fashion statement.
- See a man on a bike coming down the on ramp to a highway on a bicycle.
- Men smoking and eating at the same time and I do mean same time – Drag and bite Drag and another bite.
- You sit down at a restaurant and your friends order food and you have no idea and I do mean no idea what you are eating.
- Push on to the subway car as soon as the doors open no need to let people off just everyone push on, getting off the subway involves a tactical plan that General Patton would be proud of. Sweep left and fools the Nazi’s. Flank to the left side and drive forward pushing the enemy back once you hit the platform don’t let up advance to the escalator and wait for supplies.
- Walk on sidewalks that resemble the moon. The sidewalks are more like trenches in World War 1 careful of the barb wire. Sometimes when I am walking I think oh they could film some earth quake movie here or maybe re enact a battle scene from World War 1 and it would not cost anything.
- You see a man pick his nose in a meeting for 30 minutes and I do mean digging all the time inspecting his handiwork in case gold was struck. After the meeting he sticks his hand out at you to shake yours instead you make a break for the bathroom and don’t care if you did not get the job or not.
- You don’t rent DVD you just buy them for 70 cents
- Haircut,- hair wash and hair rub cost less than 3 bucks.

Was able to really kick back this weekend, spent Friday night with a bunch of co-workers out in Hoi Hai. Basically this is one long bar street with maybe 100 bars on it give or take a few We were there till like 3 in the morning my buddies back home would have been proud. Saturday another trip to Ikea and then rested all day.
Sunday another big day – headed up to Fragrance mountain, about 1 hour away from home, it was an amazing day, luckily I had my co worker Lisa show me around, we live only a few buildings away from one another so its easy to meet up. If it was not for her I am not sure if I would have been so adventurous to go to this site. My Chinese language ability is still very basic about 5 words so it’s very hard to get around and function with out my handy little map. I have misplaced my little Chinese language phrase book and its really killing me.

Girl Friends. I sat back today and thought about the women who I have romanced and have been a part of my life over the years. I narrowed it down to 10 of the more important ones that I could think of on this rainy Sunday afternoon in Beijing.
1.Alison D. my first real true love you broke my heart when you kissed John on the dance floor almost 20 years ago at that school dance.
2.Carolyn P. had a crush on you because we had the same initials oh grade three love made so much more sense when I was only 6.
3.Grace W. Gracey did I ever tell you I lived on a street with that name; you treated me like gold sorry I was a bit of an ass.
4.Gwen T. never forgot how you jumped away from me in the cab the first time I tried to kiss you. Always will wonder what might have been, just really crazy about you! To bad you just think I am really crazy.
5.Josephine S. Friends first who became more, that I am sure is the best situation to be in. Glad we worked on the science project together in grade elven.
6.Larissa B. – made out in three different parts of the world North America, Europe and Asia– Here is a shocker – I have to admit if I ever came close this was the one.
7.Stacey Q. My grade 8 fling – the preppy boy who had the Michael Jackson track suit and wore it like a badge of honor (thank god I did not where a bandanna) You still liked me even with the red and black track suit you deserved a medal for that. That track suit was bad ass! Who would have won in a dance off between Michael Jackson and MC Hammer?
8.Susan H. well we met at the exhibition when I was in my early 20’s (Before you ask I was NOT a Carney). I had some great trips up to Montreal. Ran into her a few years ago in line with her husband at Starbucks. I still remember the crooked penis story she told me!
9.Vanessa C. dated you in grade 6 (called it going around then) took me almost one year to kiss you. Oh those were the days. I like to think I am still that shy kid any one want to comment?
10.Wendy M. ideal GF social butterfly, great cook, great looking and great at everything else – being honest with me not so great at.
So it all boils down to this small handful of girls who have helped shape me and become the person I am today. Maybe I should contact them to help pay for my psychiatry bills (kidding). Or maybe I can get Li to pay for them.
