What kind of trouble did I get up to this weekend, not that much to be honest went out for dinner on Friday to a nice restaurant just off of King St., forget the name will add when I get the bill. The company was great but not sure if I will be going back. We had to sit outside and it was just a wee bit cold, lucky for my “friend” I had a jacket.
The food was ok, we had fatty duck and some sort of fish dish, both were nothing amazing but also not bad. The service was slow about an hour from when we orderd and when food arrived, add that altogether and the high bill and I think I will pass next time. Thank god I had some interesting company or I would have been upset.

Saturday saw the 40 Year Old Virgin not a bad movie had some funny spots. It was just dumb fun. Went to the father son golf tournament on Sunday think we shot 90 not a bad score.

I have seriously considered going to get my MBA next year. So it looks like I am finally doing something about it. Western would be my first choice but not sure if anyone will take me at this time. Thursday is an information session at the Royal York so that should help a bit and see if it is possible or not.

Well it has been a busy week to say the least. First the Shopping centre convention (ICSC) in Toronto and then the big Altus Merger party. Both went off with very few problems.
I finally purchased my first apple computer product an apple Nano, this ipod is by far one of the best products I have ever purchased.
I have loaded it up with all of my music mostly Dave Mathews, U2 and Cool Play and over 100 photos and I still have a ton of room left. Off to Prevs wedding tonight hope to remember some of it
Oh ya almost forgot went Bungee jumping yesterday talk about crazy fun, I was like oh my GODDDDDDD
Saw U2 Concert on Monday, like always they were GREAT even if the reviews were not.

Ok so I went out on a real festive Chinese dinner and I was just not ready for it. Eight Courses count them 8. I had everything under the sun and then some more, shark fin soup, pigeon, rice, fish, meat more rice and some things I was totally not sure of and a few things I had to just wash down with my diet coke and no t ask questions. My stomach was like what the hell do you think I can digest that, but I just kept drinking diet coke to keep her down and not allowing myself time to think what it was. It was all good, toss in some singers and some prizes and it was an adventure not to be missed. I hope this is what my trip to China will be like. I am getting closer and closer to finalizing the details of my trip, just still a wee bit worried about going there by myself.

Was able to enjoy the long weekend with some Kayaking, with a “good friend”. Our adventure was a total success and I think it was a fun time to be had by all ;-) . Got way to much sun but had a great time taking in the air show and just enjoying the terrific day, company helped a bit also. I have a new hobby and her name is Kayaking. I was glad I was going with someone who was a good swimmer and would be able to save my ass. At one point on the way home I was getting a wee bit nervous as I knew there was no dam way I would be able to swim to safety either back to the island or to the harbourfront but was confident my kayaking partner would save me not just paddle away ;-)

Google vs. Microsoft.
Lately there has been a spat between the David and Goliath of the computer world. Basically Google hired an employee away from Microsoft to help start up their China operations. Form what I can tell Kai-Fu Lee the Microsoft employee was a Microsoft executive who was helping them expand into China. Lee contacted the CEO of Google Eric Schmidt and basically said I am ready to make a move, to your company. Please find attached a copy of my resume as well as a paper on Microsoft expansion (highly confidential) for you to read, (and oh ya I have lot more from where that came from). I can be bought for a substantial amount of money and in turn will bring over all my knowledge as well as everything I can get my greedy little hands on.

Now I have no problem with him jumping ship and the non-compete clause in his contract is common everyone has one (but who really listens). But sending stuff from your current employer on future endeavors and expansion to your future employer is 100% wrong. Lee I would have assumed you were a genius and I guess I would have assumed wrong.

Google how you could hire this guy is beyond me have some foresight and realize this guy will sell your secrets if the price is high enough, your employees don’t just have to be smart they need to have some integrity. Mr. Lee has none.

September is rolling in and with it, the end of Summer 2005. I am still planning my vacation to China for sometime in October or November all depends on the cost and when I can actually take some time off of work. Looks like it’s going to cost $4000 not a cheap 10-day trip that’s for sure. If anyone has any advice on what I should see please don’t be shy let me know. I plan on going to Beijing, Shanghai, Xian and another city but I forget the name.

I have been playing tour guide to some overseas students for the last couple of weekends. Has been a lot of fun CNE, Ontario Pace, Harbor Front, Queen St and Kensington Market I think the students have had a blast. I should open up my own company Pelyk Tours and start charging people.
Don’t forget the 2005 air show this Labor Day weekend, I will be out on the water on Saturday taking in the show just need to make sure my camera is waterproof.

Not sure how many of you are up to date on Canadian events, within the last couple of years a tremendous scandal was uncovered involving an increase in the visibility of the federal government in Quebec. In essence it was an advertising and consulting dream to steal from Canadian taxpayers. Basically add companies and lobby organizations were given millions of dollars and in return they did FUCK all, yes they stole from the Canadian tax payer you and me.

One of these men was Paul Coffin. Today Mr. Coffin paid back 1 million of the 1.5 that he took and apologized for what he did. Well my hat goes off to you Mr. Coffin, I want to thank you for admitting your wrong doings and to be honest with the Canadian people. In my eyes you have corrected your wrong and I wish you the best of luck in the future. For all you other people involved step up to the plate like Mr. Coffin because we all know and so do you what you did was wrong, only he had the courage to admit it and pay for his wrong doing.

Went out last night with an “old friend”. Talked about the good times and the bad, also the disaster of Japan(how she put it). “L” looked great she has a great smile and even if I was a wee bit nervous at first it quickly wore off and the conversation just flowed easily as did the laughs. Talk about being in shape triathlons, decathlons, biathlons, miatholons this women has done it all.
Busy weekend played some golf and more or less relaxed and took it easy.
